Responsibilities
Collaborate with product owners and designers to implement features from requirements to deployment in AWS-based environments
Develop and maintain front-end components (e.g., React/TypeScript) and server-side APIs (e.g., Spring Boot 3.x, Node.js, Python) deployed on AWS services (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora, S3)
Work with PostgreSQL 17 for relational data storage, schema design, and query optimization
Write clean, testable code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to unit and integration tests
Assist with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation); help maintain secure, auditable deployments
Help monitor application health, respond to incidents with guidance from seniors, and support basic observability (CloudWatch, Splunk)
Contribute to documentation, coding standards, and security best practices appropriate for government environments
Support data ingestion, logging, and observability requirements as part of data governance initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
0-2 years of full-stack development experience
Foundational knowledge of at least one front-end framework (React, Angular, or Vue) and one backend framework/language; experience with Spring Boot 3.x is strongly preferred
Practical experience or coursework with PostgreSQL (preferably PostgreSQL 17) and basic database concepts (SQL)
Basic familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora, IAM) and core cloud concepts
Understanding of RESTful API design and basic database concepts (SQL or NoSQL)
Basic knowledge of version control (Git) and the software development lifecycle
Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn in a regulated environment
Preferred
Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD concepts
Experience with containerization (Docker) and basic orchestration (ECS/EKS) is a plus
Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, or similar)
Awareness of security fundamentals, data privacy, and secure coding practices in government contexts
U.S. Government or regulated industry experience or interest in government work
