Responsibilities
Design intuitive agent experiences: Create guided workflows that help users configure complex AI systems without requiring deep technical expertise
Visualize knowledge structures: Turn abstract semantic relationships into clear, interactive visualizations that make data models understandable and actionable
Bridge human and machine understanding: Translate technical concepts into approachable interfaces and language so users feel confident interacting with AI
Prototype and iterate quickly: Build and test design concepts that demonstrate how structured knowledge improves AI reasoning and user outcomes
Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with engineers, researchers, and product managers to ensure designs are technically feasible and user-centered
Communicate design intent clearly: Share compelling product stories with stakeholders and adjust narratives for different audiences
Ground Decisions in Research: Conduct user research and analyze feedback to continuously refine semantic structures. Validate that your models actually help users and agents accomplish their goals
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
Applications must include a link to a design portfolio
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Occasional travel (0% to 25%) is expected in this role
Preferred
4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process
Experience that demonstrates proven ability to advocate for design thinking, effectively influence design outcomes, discover problems and tackle them in fast-paced environments
