Assistant Teaching Professor, Biomedical Engineering (BME)
The University of Rhode Island is seeking a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate Biomedical Engineering courses and coordinating laboratory courses, while also assisting in the development of student assessment materials for program review.

Teach Biomedical Engineering (BME) Undergraduate courses
Teach and/or coordinate BME laboratory courses
Train/supervise graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants
Assist the Department in developing student assessment and course review material for program review by ABET
Specific assignments will vary according to departmental curricular needs
Anticipated teaching load is 12 credits per semester
Qualification
Required
A Masters or Ph.D. degree in Biomedical engineering or closely related fields such as electrical engineering or instrumentation
Demonstrated experience in teaching BME courses (e.g., teaching assistantship, per-course instructor, adjunct appointments, etc.)
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups/populations
Preferred
Industrial experience
Demonstrated experience teaching lecture and laboratory courses in an ABET accredited BME program
Demonstrated experience in supervising teaching assistants in laboratory courses
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
