Responsibilities

Responsible for the safe and compliant handling of high-pressure and liquid gas cylinders

Loading and unloading cylinders onto and off trucks, ensuring all actions meet federal, state, and local regulations as well as Airgas safety procedures

Prepares outbound shipments for delivery trucks, adhering to all governmental, Airgas, and distributor standards

Verifying truck inventory, inspecting, and replacing straps on cylinder pallets, and reporting on the daily status of shipments

Coordinates and organizes various gases and cylinder sizes onto pallets to minimize the load size footprint

Sorts incoming empty cylinders into their correct size and gas groups

Maintains a safe work environment by understanding the hazards associated with various gases, cylinder sizes, and contents, which requires reading and interpreting cylinder labels and color-coding

Safely operates warehouse/material-handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks

Ability to perform heavy work – routinely lifts 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lifts 76 to greater than 100 lbs
