Collaboration Systems Engineer
Winstead PC is seeking a skilled Collaboration Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain their technical infrastructure for web conferencing and video collaboration. The role requires technical expertise in audiovisual systems and programming skills to create reliable collaboration experiences for users.

Responsibilities
Design and deploy collaboration systems including video conferencing, web meeting platforms, and unified communications solutions
Specify, configure, and integrate audiovisual equipment including cameras, displays, microphones, speakers, and control systems
Create system architectures that prioritize simplicity, reliability, and ease of use for end users
Evaluate and recommend collaboration technologies that align with organizational needs
Program and customize control panels (Crestron, Extron, AMX, or similar platforms) to provide intuitive user interfaces
Develop one-touch meeting start solutions that minimize technical barriers for participants
Create automated workflows that simplify complex technical operations
Design custom user interfaces optimized for non-technical users
Maintain and monitor collaboration systems to ensure maximum uptime and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with video conferencing and collaboration tools
Provide technical support during critical meetings and events when needed
Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and preventive care
Conduct user testing and gather feedback to continuously improve system usability
Train end users and create documentation that promotes self-sufficiency
Implement solutions that reduce cognitive load and technical friction
Balance feature richness with simplicity to avoid overwhelming users
Establish and maintain standards for collaboration room configurations
Document system designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
Stay current with emerging collaboration technologies and industry trends
Ensure systems comply with security, accessibility, and organizational policies
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience implementing and supporting collaboration systems (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or similar platforms)
Proven experience programming control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, Q-SYS, or comparable)
Strong understanding of network infrastructure, IP-based AV systems, and VoIP technologies
Hands-on experience with professional audiovisual equipment installation and configuration
Knowledge of video codecs, streaming protocols, and bandwidth management
Proficiency in control system programming languages (Crestron SIMPL/SIMPL+, Extron Control Script, or similar)
Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript) for automation
Ability to create custom integrations using APIs and web services
Understanding of user interface design principles
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a methodical troubleshooting approach
Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Customer service orientation with patience and empathy for users of varying technical abilities
Detail-oriented with commitment to documentation and process improvement
Preferred
Industry certifications (CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Crestron Certified Programmer, Zoom Certified, Microsoft Teams certified, or similar)
Experience with room scheduling systems and digital signage platforms
Knowledge of acoustics and room treatment for optimal audio quality
Familiarity with Dante, AES67, or other audio networking protocols
Experience in corporate, education, or legal environments where reliability is mission-critical
Background in software development or IT systems administration
