Assists the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily bakery operations, including production, merchandising, and customer service
Supervises and directs bakery staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company standards for quality, cleanliness, and customer service
Assists with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking bakery products and supplies. Monitors product freshness and ensures accurate rotation
Helps manage product displays, ensuring proper presentation, labeling, and pricing according to merchandising standards
Maintains a deep understanding of bakery products and processes to provide guidance to staff and customers on product information, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods
Assists in training and onboarding new bakery team members, providing coaching and feedback to support their development
Works closely with the Bakery Manager to ensure the department meets sales goals and margin objectives, identifying opportunities to increase profitability and efficiency
Assists with scheduling and time management for bakery staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak periods
Ensures that all food safety regulations are followed, maintaining proper sanitation and cleanliness in the bakery department at all times
Helps resolve customer complaints or issues with products and services, providing solutions that ensure customer satisfaction
Collaborates with other departments to support store-wide promotions, events, and cross-department initiatives
Serves as a point of contact for the bakery department in the absence of the Bakery Manager, ensuring continuity in operations
Participates in department meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new products, processes, and company initiatives
Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Bakery Manager or store leadership

Required

Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment
Basic ability to read and interpret documents
Basic math and computation skills
Skills to read, understand, and follow through on verbal and written instructions
Skills to exercise good judgment at all times
Ability to perform accurate inventory counts, order calculations, and sales tracking
Ability to stand, walk, and use hands and wrists to handle, grasp, and feel objects
Required to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds
May occasionally need to bend, stoop, kneel, or reach at/above/below shoulder level

Preferred

Prior supervisory or leadership experience
Strong verbal communication skills
Knowledge of English
