Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program
Oversee the annual SOX risk assessment process and update control documentation
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure SOX compliance
Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
Conduct control testing and identify gaps or deficiencies in the control environment
Develop remediation plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address control deficiencies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SOX regulations and ensure company policies align with regulatory requirements
Prepare and present SOX compliance status reports to senior management and the audit committee
Facilitate training and awareness programs to enhance the organization's understanding of SOX requirements
Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the effectiveness of IT controls related to financial reporting
Manage the documentation and retention of all SOX compliance evidence
Provide guidance and support to process owners on control design and implementation
Continuously enhance the SOX compliance framework through process improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal audit, public accounting, or SOX compliance
In-depth knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and its regulations
Proven experience managing and executing SOX compliance programs
Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and risk assessment methodologies
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and audit management software
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external auditors
Strong ethical standards and high level of integrity
Preferred
Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is preferred
