Responsibilities
Maintain assigned general ledger accounts by researching aged items, partnering with other areas to resolve outstanding balances, and ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is in place
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation is maintained
Support the month-end financial reporting process in the areas of prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, and allocations
Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment
Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, and account inquiries
Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and resolve discrepancies
Maintain organized records of all transactions, invoices, and communications
Monitor AP inbox to ensure timely responses and processing of invoices
Respond to information requests in support of company initiatives
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports
Foster and maintain positive relationships with both co-workers and members by actively embracing and demonstrating MCCU's culture, known as IMPACT
Qualification
Required
Degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent 3-5 years of experience in Business/Accounting
Provide prompt and professional assistance to members and credit union employees
Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
Possess knowledge of MCCU systems, products, and services
Ability to work as a team effectively and cross train to provide support to team members
Strong computer skills including Accounting software and Microsoft Office
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work occasional evening and weekends as needed
Working knowledge of US GAAP
