Summer 2026 C-Clear Paid Summer Internship – Cancer Center
The University of Kansas Medical Center is the region's only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, where patients gain access to the most promising therapies, cutting-edge clinical trials, and world-class research. The C-CLEAR Summer Intern will participate in structured learning activities, assist with basic research operational tasks, and support assigned projects under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Research Operations.

Responsibilities
Complete required program modules, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), human subjects’ protection, clinical research fundamentals, and oncology basics
Submit weekly assignments, self-assessments, and reflections aligned with program objectives
Assist with basic project tasks under staff supervision, which may include literature reviews, drafting plain-language educational materials, process documentation, and data organization
Support community-engaged research or outreach-related activities as assigned
Attend scheduled workshops, career panels, and mentoring sessions
Participate in résumé building, skill assessments, or other development activities
Prepare and deliver a final capstone presentation summarizing internship learning outcomes and project contributions
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled students (minimum 60 credit hours) in an accredited undergraduate program
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Interest in oncology, clinical research, public health, health equity, or related fields as evidenced by coursework, degree, or application materials
Communication

Prior exposure to research and patient care through coursework, volunteer and shadow experiences and laboratory
