Restoration Finance and Analysis Intern
World Resources Institute is focused on improving lives and restoring nature through its Global Restoration Initiative. The internship supports work in investing in restoration projects and creating the necessary conditions for investment, while providing programmatic support and gaining experience in land restoration finance and policy analysis.

Responsibilities
Learn about restoration finance, projects, and outcomes through data analysis, desktop research, literature reviews, and participation in programmatic activities across the Restoration team
Support development of robust research methodologies, including proposing frameworks for data analysis. Organize research materials (including literature, drafts, and references) using WRI file management tools
Contribute to communication products including blog posts, presentations, impact stories, and more to help showcase restoration champions
Contribute to policy development and engagement with targeted research deliverables such as briefs, copyediting support, and desktop review
Qualification
Required
This opportunity is open to undergraduate students and recent graduates with focus and interest in business, economic development, data science, environmental sciences, social sciences, or other related fields
Experience with analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and experience communicating insights derived from that data
Experience communicating insights derived from data analysis
Experience with learning on the job, with demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
Experience staying organized and prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
Understanding of ecosystem restoration, land use, forestry, conservation, agriculture, or related topics. Academic background or professional experience working in these sectors is a plus
Verbal and written proficiency in English is required
Existing work authorization in the United States is required
Must be able to work from the WRI office in Washington DC at least 8 times a month
Preferred
Experience with data tools such as Excel, R, or similar preferred
Experience with economic analysis a plus
Working proficiency in French or Portuguese is desired but not required
