Program Coordinator Project AWARE
Brown University Health is committed to ensuring the health and safety of RI students through the Project AWARE initiative. The Program Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of this initiative, collaborating with various partners to enhance access to mental health services for children and youth.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and administer all aspects of the Project AWARE initiative to facilitate the safety and health, well-being and readiness to learn of RI's children and youth
Coordinate the development and coordination of grant proposals, reports, contracts, and budgets in accordance with regulatory, programmatic, and funding initiatives
Build and maintain an infrastructure to support Project AWARE in collaboration with DCYF and other appropriate partners, to ensure successful coordination of the Project AWARE to achieve the following project goals: Increase and improve access to culturally competent and developmentally appropriate school- and community-based mental health services, particularly for children and youth with SED or SMI
Develop school-based mental health programs staffed by behavioral health specialists (psychologists, advance practice nurses, counselors, clinical social workers) to screen for, provide early intervention for and to address any ongoing mental health needs of children with symptoms consistent with a mental disorder(s) or SED
Conduct outreach and engagement with school-aged youth and their families to increase awareness and identification of mental health issues and to promote positive mental health
Connect families, schools, and communities to increase engagement and involvement in planning and implementing school and community programs for school-aged youth
Help school-aged youth develop skills that will promote resilience and promote pro-social behaviors; avert development of mental and behavioral health disorders; and prevent youth violence
Develop an infrastructure that will sustain and expand mental health and behavioral health services and supports for school-aged youth when federal funding ends
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in administration or fields related to education, behavioral health and school safety
3-5 years employment in a position involved with administration and evaluation of grant-funded programs
Experience in planning, developing and implementing programs
Working with systems integration and change
Experience effectively working with state, community and/or school partners
Skilled in communicating effectively both orally and in writing with various publics
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, organization and communication skills
Skilled in preparing, managing, and monitoring school health related federal grant budgets in accordance with regulatory, programmatic and funding initiatives
Skilled in team leadership and facilitation, management and building collaborative relationships with state and community agencies
Knowledge of systems change and development
Skilled in planning and implementing various types of evaluation
Skilled in the use of computer technology
Skilled in building working collaborative relationships with other state and community agencies
