They are seeking a Director of Operations who will be responsible for the operational execution, discipline, and financial performance of the business, working closely with the Owner and Production Manager to ensure efficient operations and accountability across teams.

Responsibilities

Partner closely with the Production Manager on production planning, staffing, coverage, and ensuring jobs are executed efficiently, on schedule and to company standards

Maintain strong handoffs between office, production, and field teams

Ensure systems, documentation, and workflows are efficient and followed consistently - create SOPs when documentation does not exist

Own shop and office facilities readiness by ensuring routine maintenance, seasonal needs (e.g., snow removal), and basic upkeep are handled - either directly or through appropriate delegation

Serve as a senior leader alongside the Owner and Production Manager

Set clear expectations and hold team accountable to performance and standards

Enforce role clarity, decision-making authority, and boundaries

Foster a calm, professional, execution-focused culture

Oversee job costing, labor efficiency, and margin performance

Measure and analyze profitability at the job, division, and company level

Review estimates for accuracy, scope completeness, and revenue protection

Partner with the Owner on operational strategy, budgeting, and forecasting

Work with office support to ensure accurate reporting and visibility

Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements to protect margins

Must reside within 25 minutes of the home office

Available for on-call operational support and escalations as needed

Comfortable being present in the business during high-demand or emergency situations
