Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for formal problem-solving projects targeting significant scrap reduction, manufacturing throughput improvement and quality metric improvement
Lead formal technical problem-solving activities for the plant
Be the site contact and subject matter expert for formal problem-solving projects
Coach and support other plant employees on formal problem-solving projects and continuous improvement activities
Attend departmental quality meetings to identify potential problem-solving / continuous improvement opportunities
Facilitate meetings with plant engineering leadership to collect progress updates on plant problem-solving and continuous improvement projects
Work towards obtaining Red X Master certification
Obtain OpEx Faster Master certification

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in a technical (STEM) related field
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Ability to travel up to 10% of the year
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and off shifts, as needed by the business

Preferred

2+ years of leading technical problem-solving activities in a manufacturing environment
Experience in the quality field, serving in a managerial or engineering capacity
Six Sigma black belt certification or higher
Red X problem-solving certification / Shanin problem-solving certification
OpEx certification
