TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER (CIVIL)
Caltrans is the California Department of Transportation, dedicated to improving lives and communities through transportation. The Transportation Engineer (Civil) will develop and update transportation demand forecasting models, prepare project initiation documents, feasibility studies, and conduct engineering feasibility for proposed transportation facilities.

Responsibilities
Responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the development, application, and updating of transportation demand forecasting and mobile emission models and processes
Responsible for preparing Project Initiation Documents (PlD's), Feasibility Studies (FS's), and Preliminary Investigations (Pl's)
Involve conducting engineering feasibility of proposed transportation facilities
Preparing conceptual plans based on preliminary geometric designs
Calculating preliminary cost estimates
Preparing presentations
Coordinating with stakeholders and local, state and federal agencies
Writing draft and final reports
Qualification
Required
Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle
Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment

Unofficial, original, or official sealed transcripts will be accepted and may be required upon appointment
Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent
