Software Engineer I (Hybrid Only)
Principal Financial Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Workplace Personal Investing team. The role involves developing and maintaining software solutions for wealth management platforms and client-facing applications, while focusing on personal growth as an engineer and learning existing tools and processes.

Responsibilities
Focus on growing as an engineer, learning existing tools, resources and processes. With guidance, develop productivity skills by learning source control, editors, the build system, and other tools as well as automated testing best practices
Introduction to the layers of a software development/complete solution: Run-time environment. Understand customer and business needs. Develop knowledge of a single layer of the solution
Participates in code/design reviews and learning technical design. Begin learning business and technical strategies
Stay current and engaged on industry trends
Assist in communicating technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicate business objectives to the technical team
Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required
Qualification
Required
Associate or bachelor's degree, preference in computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field or equivalent experience
Basic planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required
Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language
Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
Preferred
Salesforce experience is preferred
Excellent time management skills preferred
