Responsibilities
Lead and execute mechanical and environmental reliability tests (e.g., shock, drop, vibration, thermal cycling)
Prepare detailed test plans and reports
Conduct statistical data analysis for reliability risk assessments
Perform failure analysis to determine root cause using methods such as X-ray, SEM/ EDS, FTIR, and microscopy
Develop new test procedures and specifications to assess technology robustness
Provide design recommendations to improve reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RE, PD, SQE, etc.) to communicate test results and findings
Conduct research on technologies to predict failure modes
Prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Adhere to Apple’s documentation, test, and safety standards
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science or other Engineering discipline
5+ years in a reliability, test, or quality engineering role
Experience with JEDEC, ASTM, and other industry standards
Hands-on experience with reliability testing and DOE/FMEA tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in statistical analysis
Effective communicator (written & verbal) and team player
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
