Manager, Transport Workforce & Training, FIFA World Cup 2026

FIFA World Cup 2026™ is hosting the upcoming tournament across Canada, Mexico, and the USA, and is seeking a Manager for Transport Workforce & Training to ensure effective planning and execution of transport staff management. This role involves leading multiple projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing budget and resource management to deliver world-class transport solutions during the event.

Responsibilities

Assist the Senior Manager in leading the end-to-end workforce management for transport-related initiatives, from initial planning through final execution
Develop and manage transportation workforce & training plans, resource allocations, budgets, timelines, and reporting systems to ensure project goals are achieved
Oversee the implementation of transport workforce and training plans, ensuring they meet FIFA’s operational standards and event requirements
Support the Senior Manager in managing relationships with internal (cross-functional teams, senior leadership) and external (suppliers, public authorities, volunteers) stakeholders
Act as a primary point of contact for Transport Workforce and Training for stakeholders, fostering collaboration to ensure successful execution of transport solutions
Facilitate cross-departmental coordination to streamline communication and issue resolution
Prepare and manage workforce headcount and budgets, including forecasting, monitoring expenditures, and aligning financial objectives with organizational goals
Analyze and anticipate future project costs and provide strategic recommendations to the Senior Manager for optimizing resources and minimizing cost overruns
Lead the workforce accreditation process, including supplier management, to ensure qualified personnel are deployed effectively
Oversee the planning and management of the Transport Operations Center, ensuring operational efficiency during the event
Coordinate the engagement and deployment of volunteers, ensuring they are aligned with overall transport strategies and operational goals
Proactively identify potential risks in transport operations, developing contingency plans to address potential issues
Resolve operational challenges swiftly, minimizing disruption to transport services and ensuring continuity during event periods
Manage the TPT and SharePoint pages, ensuring they are consistently updated and organized with relevant documentation and resources
Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and knowledge transfer documents to capture best practices and lessons learned for future events
Maintain a well-organized library of operating plans and key documentation for easy access and future reference, ensuring legacy planning is supported
Lead, mentor, and develop transport project staff to ensure they are well-prepared to meet project demands
Organize and oversee staff training sessions, ensuring all team members are aligned with FIFA standards and operational goals
Work closely with the Transport Procurement and Contracts Manager on procurement and contract management for transport-related services, including arrivals/departures, ensuring that documentation and procurement processes are followed according to FIFA’s standards
Provide support for transport-related contract negotiations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and service quality
Other duties as assigned to support the smooth functioning of the Event Transport and Arrivals Departures FAs

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sports Administration, Project Management or Event Management, Major Sport events or a combination of education and experience relating to position
Possess a valid driving license and passport
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management, transport planning, or event planning, ideally within football, sports, or major international events
Proven ability to manage at least one large-scale project or event, such as the FIFA World Cup, Olympic Games, or regional football tournaments
Experience working with cross-functional teams, with the ability to support complex projects to completion within timelines
Understanding of transport logistics, event transportation systems, and fleet management
Proven ability to foster a high-performing and cohesive environment
Skilled in motivating diverse, cross-functional teams in dynamic and high-pressure environments
Superior verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise documentation, reports, and presentations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple complex tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in project planning, resource allocation, and financial management
Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze challenges and develop innovative solutions under pressure
Proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing preventive measures to ensure seamless event operations
Strong project management skills (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) to ensure successful delivery of the project
Understanding of risk management, budgeting, and resource allocation in project environments
Strong intercultural sensitivity and awareness, enabling effective communication and collaboration across global teams and stakeholders
Focused on delivering exceptional service to all stakeholders, ensuring a positive transport experience for event participants and attendees
Ability to adapt transport plans and operations to meet the evolving needs of customers and stakeholders
Ability to thrive in rapidly changing environments, with flexibility to adapt strategies and operational plans to evolving event demands and conditions
Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous situations, while maintaining a calm and methodical approach to problem-solving
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office management software such as SharePoint, We Track, and Monday.com
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is considered an advantage
Experience in using data analytics and transport technology platforms to enhance decision-making and optimize operations

Preferred

Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
