Senior LevelThe Alfred Foundation is a public health service providing high-quality care across various stages of life. They are seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to maintain and support their telecommunications environment, assist with the implementation of new technologies, and provide guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities
Maintain and support the telecommunications environment, which consists of internet, data, video, and voice networks over IP and non-IP based technologies for Alfred Health
Perform troubleshooting and management of telecommunications systems
Assist the Telecommunications Architect with implementation of new Telecommunications technologies
Become a subject matter expert for ongoing BAU support of telecommunications products
Assist more junior Team members in performing their duties as an escalation point and provide assistance where a greater depth of knowledge and troubleshooting skills are required
Qualification
Required
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
Recognised industry certifications and/or relevant professional experience (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet certifications)
Proven experience managing and supporting complex telecommunications and network environments
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills, with a demonstrated commitment to delivering high‑quality system support and customer service
Experience with data centre and server room operations
Strong technical documentation skills, including experience with Microsoft Visio/LUCID
Cisco switching and routing management and troubleshooting, including familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and SDA/SDN
Cisco wireless network management and troubleshooting (e.g. Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers, Cisco 9120 Access Points)
FortiGate firewall administration (basic to intermediate knowledge)
Voice over IP (VoIP) including but not limited to: Cisco Call Manager / Unity Connection / Informacast / FAX
Basic knowledge of Cisco voice gateways / SIP
