Responsibilities
Organizes and maintains a small engine repair shop, including cleaning, stocking, and managing inventory
Coordinates with the Central Warehouse to maintain optimal inventory levels for essential parts and supplies, assisting in cost comparisons to ensure efficient procurement
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on departmental vehicles and equipment to include lubrication, oil changes, maintaining proper fluid levels, proper air pressure levels, and performing general safety checks, such as brake lights, blinkers, headlights, horns, and mirrors
Performs inspections, mechanical maintenance and electrical systems repairs, assembly, and service to vehicles and equipment
Works with supervisor to schedule repairs and maintenance tasks, provide cost estimates, and make recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements
Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and part replacements
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to safety regulations and best practices
Participate in necessary training and obtains certifications as needed to service vehicles and equipment effective
Learn and utilize institutional software systems for work order tracking, inventory management, and documentation
Must be available to work occasional overtime as needed to meet operational demands
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines
Comply with all State and University policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
One year certificate from college or technical school
Two years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience
A valid, state issued drivers license
