Responsibilities
Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations
Material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization
Development and delivery of physical, electrical, design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications
Autonomous QA/QC responsibility in area(s) of primary physical substation design competence
Provide coaching and mentoring for less experienced engineers
Coordinate the completion of specialized tasks with ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), Transmission & Distribution Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
10+ years' project and design engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
excellent verbal and written communication skills
strong organization and planning skills
ability to work in a team environment
commitment to quality and accuracy
willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
advanced knowledge of power engineering principles
expert regarding applicable codes, standards and design tools
basic project management execution skills
ability to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team
subject to client-mandated drug and background checking
occasional travel/driving is required
subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements
must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future
Preferred
PE license
experience in utility or merchant power industry
