RGP LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Tax Accountant to join their team. This role involves preparing tax returns, researching and analyzing tax issues, and developing tax planning strategies for individuals and businesses while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings, including income tax returns and related schedules

Assist with tax planning and research

Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX regulations, and other regulatory requirements

Maintain detailed documentation of tax positions and financial transactions for regulatory reporting purposes

Strong knowledge of tax experience including corporate accounting, tax accounting, and regulatory reporting

Expertise in GAAP standards, SOX compliance, auditing procedures, and financial report writing

Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards is a plus

Strong technical accounting skills including financial statement interpretation and analysis skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
