Responsibilities
Lead prototype fabrication workstream – sourcing of parts, fabrication, and then testing
Build Mechanical & Electrical tooling assemblies & subassemblies & carry out validation
Lead field trials of prototype tools and procedures
Carry out RCA on faulty incoming tools from the field
Establish and maintain a positive rapport with supervisors from multiple areas, as this position works closely with multiple engineers from different backgrounds
Manage inventory of tools – handle purchase orders and ensure stock inventory
General shop maintenance & upkeep - Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in sheet metal work
Ability to train others
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Use of MS Office tools and other systems to effectively communicate results/failures (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Jira)
Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required
Ability to travel up to 30%
Basic fabrication use of bandsaws, drill press, mig or tig welder
Experience working with CNC lathe and mill
