Ludvik Electric Co. is responsible for purchasing items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality and specifications. The Purchasing Agent will negotiate with vendors, evaluate quotes, and maintain inventory levels while ensuring timely delivery of materials.

Responsibilities

Responsible for purchasing and negotiation materials, equipment and supplies from vendors

Assists in the selection of particular vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers

May be responsible for locating or promoting possible new sources of supply. Researches new vendor prices, prepares a through written bid and prepares analysis for negotiation and decision making

Procure miscellaneous tools, construction equipment, replacement and repair parts, supplies and materials ordered from the field. Occasionally responsible to lease equipment. Expedites requirements as needed

Establishes route and priorities for Truck Drivers on a daily basis

Maintains miscellaneous tool and material inventory levels

Audits purchase orders for delivery dates and maintain contact with vendors to insure delivery of materials when promised

Returns unacceptable products to vendors and have contact with departments originating orders to keep them informed regarding status of order

Is expected to keep abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered types of materials entering the market, etc
