Responsibilities

You will provide advice and guidance to Nuclear Zone Managers on production processes, safety concerns, and shop processes
You will be responsible for the Radioactive Material Control Office's critical skills/processes in all facets of planning and execution of nuclear work
You will conduct surveillance and analyze process improvements to ensure accuracy of training materials for shop personnel
You will ensure building and facility preventative maintenance is completed on time

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Experience in trade processes, skills, operations, practices, and equipment used in ship repair
Experience supervising and managing Radioactive Material Control Office (RAMCO)
Experience planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the radiological support facility
Experience supervising and organizing work performed by various trades including pipefitters, insulators, primary/secondary valve mechanics and others in highly diverse and complex trade operations
Experience supervising a Radioactive Material Management Program and a mixed waste program
