Responsibilities
Operating heavy construction equipment to complete agency in-house construction projects in support of all Bureaus within the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC)
Transporting equipment to the project sites
Ensuring loads are properly secured and of legal limit, including overweight/size permits
Obeying all traffic laws
Servicing construction equipment and vehicles, including safety pre-trip and post-trip inspection, lubrication, oil change/servicing, tires, brake adjustment, track adjustment, and miscellaneous repairs
Performing a variety of labor type duties
Qualification
Required
One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
Any equivalent combination of experience or training
This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license
You must be willing to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of employment
You must be able to perform essential job functions
Preferred
Possession of a current Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) which is not under suspension
Ability to transport truck, trailer, and equipment up to 133,000 pounds gross weight
