NEOGOV is seeking a Firefighter Support II - Health & Safety Duty Officer to perform responsible work involving the training of new hires and the supervision of training programs for fire rescue personnel. The role includes developing training programs, conducting classes, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Develops, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates overall Department Training Program including all Fire, EMS, Rescue, and Special Operation Training according to departmental policies, procedures, and regulations

The ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both oral and written form

Identifies training needs, researches and prepares lesson plans, power point presentations and handout materials

Conducts classes in fire and EMS related subjects

Maintains required teaching certifications

Ensures training records and certifications of personnel are recorded and kept current through on-line learning management system (LMS)

Supports supervisor in planning, organizing and implementing department goals and objectives; coordinates and integrates all activities toward achievement of established goals and objectives

Required

Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma

Education must be supplemented by either advanced level course work in modern methods of firefighting, fire control, and company officer leadership

Must possess a current State of Florida Certificate of Compliance as a Firefighter

State of Florida certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (Paramedic Preferred)

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license

Must obtain and maintain a State of Florida Fire Instructor certification within six (6) months from date of hire

Must obtain and maintain a CPR instructor certification within one (1) year from date of hire

Must possess a valid Florida driver's license

Certificate of Compliance from the Florida Bureau of Fire Standards

Maintain an EMT (Paramedic Preferred) certification with the State of Florida

Florida State certified as a Firefighter EMT (Paramedic Preferred)

AHA CPR card

AHA BLS Instructor

State of Florida Fire Instructor I

National or State Incident Safety Officer

Live Fire Training Instructor

EVOC Instructor

ICS 300

State Pump Operator Certification

Fire Officer 1 certified, consisting of the following minimum components: Building Construction, Company Officer, Fire Service Course Delivery, Firefighting Tactics & Strategy I, Courage To Be Safe, Fire Officer I Task Book

Preferred

An Associate degree in Fire, EMS, teaching, or management preferred

Preferred instructional credentialing in ACLS, BTLS/PHTLS, PALS
