Responsibilities

Overseeing numerous complex and high-priority special assignments involving extensive research and program improvements on a variety of high-level subjects of critical importance to OPO and divisional staff. Advising on the requisite nature of background information and data, levels of coordination and consultation, to assure senior leadership is provided with pertinent information for decision-making on highly sensitive and potentially controversial protective support issues
Providing policy direction for the division in the initiation, development, and recommendation of specific protective/operational agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with other government and contract agencies (e.g. Department of State for foreign advance agreements)
Performing the full range of supervisory/managerial functions: exercising delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of several program segments, each managed by a GS-14 Operations Supervisor or equivalent position. Planning and directing work to be accomplished by subordinate supervisors based upon administrative goals and objectives of the division. Approving multiyear and longer-range work plans developed by branch supervisors to ensure the achievement of the program goals and objectives. Assigning work based on priorities, suspense dates, consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and employee capabilities

Obtain and maintain a top-secret Tier 5 clearance
Submit to random drug testing while you occupy the position
Submit a Financial disclosure report
May be subject to a one-year probationary period for supervisors/managers
You qualify for the GS-15 level (starting salary $169,279) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level performing duties such as: Developing goals for a division/agency priorities and justifying budget needs; Providing policy direction for a division/agency in the initiation, development and recommendation of agreements and memoranda of understanding; Planning and directing work to be accomplished by a division/agency based on administrative goals and objectives; Conducting continuous evaluation of administrative programs and operations; Contributing to the development of processes for the administrative services of a division/agency
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet 'time-in-grade' requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying)
