VP - Commercial Loan Officer (Lawrence, MA or Bridgewater, MA)
BrightBridge Credit Union is seeking a Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer to leverage their expertise in commercial lending. The role focuses on expanding the business lending portfolio through Commercial Real Estate financing and managing a portfolio of business relationships as the lead Relationship Manager.

Responsibilities
Answers general inquiries from members and prospective members concerning products, rates, loan requirements, and application process via telephone, branch office, business location or other meeting place as requested by the member/prospective member
Meets or exceeds sales goals by generating and maintaining external commercial loan business from various sources within assigned territory. Responsible for networking with BrightBridge members, prospective members, and centers of influence in order to develop and increase new commercial business for the Credit Union. Attends public functions including but not limited to Chamber of Commerce meetings and functions. Exhibits all products and services offered by BrightBridge to its members, whether commercial related or otherwise
Pre-qualifies members and potential members to appropriate loan products based on individual/business profiles and credit needs. Analyzes application to determine documents required (tax returns, bank statements, etc.) to submit the loan application for processing and underwriting review, to determine recommendation on loan approval
Working in conjunction with VP, Commercial Lending Manager, develops and implements sales processes and techniques to grow commercial loans and deposits with existing and prospective members. Develops reporting for tracking selling processes and results. Mentors and supports other commercial lenders and business development officers for future advancement
Processes loan applications and other documents for submission to Underwriting in compliance with all applicable regulations and regulatory guidelines. Works as the primary contact for the borrower throughout the commercial loan process and thereafter as Relationship Manager. Works with Octant Business Services as the primary contact and liaison for the commercial loan in process to provide all details in regard to underwriting process
Originates applications in accordance with BrightBridge policy, compliance with banking laws and regulatory guidelines. As part of the origination process, responsibilities include: interviewing loan applicants to document income, debt, collateral, and credit history; requesting income and asset information, P&S agreements, and other required documents for verification; meeting with borrowers for the purpose of the prequalifying them for commercial loan financing
Reviews each business loan application and loan structure with the Commercial Lending Manager to determine the terms and conditions for the prospective borrower
Conveys to the applicant all loan terms, rates and fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms. Corresponds with applicant as needed to answer questions, resolve issues, gather additional information, and support the business relationship
Provides friendly, accurate and timely service and support for members and credit union associates. Provides superior customer service representing the credit union in a business-like and professional manner. Responds to Member inquiries in person, by telephone, email and mail promptly, professionally and courteously
Promotes and cross-sells deposit and other ancillary BrightBridge products and services, along with products and services of business partners (credit cards, merchant services, etc.) as appropriate for each member. Builds relationships with affiliates that promote BrightBridge deposit accounts
Contacts manager regarding any member issues or concerns, including items requiring follow-up actions
Provides additional duties as requested
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
Five years to ten years of business lending experience required
Strong sales, relationship building and member service skills
Analytical and research skills, and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform cash flow analysis and understand required loan documentation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Maintains current knowledge and demonstrates proficiency with all applicable state and federal lending laws and regulations
Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to travel frequently to prospective business locations. Attendance at conferences, meetings, networking events, and other travel required as needed
Valid driver's license required
