Transportation Engineer/Transportation Engineering Associate III (61034520) **RE-ADVERTISEMENT**

South Carolina Department of Transportation is responsible for overseeing transportation projects, and they are seeking a Transportation Engineer/Transportation Engineering Associate III. The role involves supervising the assembly of construction plans, performing administrative duties, and training design group members while collaborating with various department personnel.

Civil Engineering

Responsibilities

Supervises the assembly of complete sets of right-of-way and construction plans that meet all the requirements set forth by the State, FHWA, and AASHTO standards
Performs administrative duties necessary for the scheduling and timely completion of right-of-way and construction plans
Trains design group members in planning preparation for secondary, bridge replacement, safety, primary, interstate and enhancement projects
Meets with various department personnel, including Program Management, Hydrology, Structures, Geotechnical, Traffic, Right-of-Way, Planning, Environmental, Engineering Support, and District field engineers, to obtain necessary information for completion of right-of-way and construction plans
Prepares required reports, estimates, and special drawings as required
Researches technical manuals
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management
Three (3) years of engineering or construction management work experience
An approved acceptable equivalence
A valid motor vehicle operator's license
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to travel
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, climb, balance, and kneel
Ability to drive and walk for extended periods
Ability to tread rough and uneven terrain
Ability to work in close proximity to motoring traffic and natural environmental hazards
Ability to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies
Ability to be exposed to outside environment in all weather conditions and noise
