Responsibilities

Supporting Steelcase Quality objectives and serving as the customer advocate throughout the total Supply Chain
Supporting FMEA-based risk mitigation activities
Designing and evaluating manufacturing quality assurance systems, procedures, and statistical techniques
Managing functional responsibilities across cross-functional teams
Specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment
Analyzing production and service processes and recommending specification revisions when needed
Formulating or contributing to quality assurance policies and procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, 2-4+ years experience in the quality of technical field with associates degree or 4-6+ years in the quality or technical field
4–6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or a technical field
Ability to travel up to 10%
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams

Preferred

Applying a comprehensive understanding of quality engineering principles and standards (e.g., ASQ Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge)
Developing technical solutions to complex, strategic problems
Making decisions that significantly impact the customer experience
Collaborating effectively across functions and levels of management
Demonstrating project management and advanced facilitation skills
Representing the company as a technical lead on key projects
Understanding product testing requirements, development cycles, and special processes
