EPG/Heavy Field Technician

Tractor & Equipment Co. is seeking an EPG/Heavy Field Technician for their Great Falls, MT branch. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and installing electric power generators and heavy equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards and effective communication with customers.

Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair standby, prime and paralleling power systems
Interpret results and take corrective actions; determine proper sequence of repairs, control costs and analyze additional repair needs on EPG Industrial engines
Troubleshoot and repair advanced electronics using E.T
Use Caterpillar parts ordering systems (SIS), effectively communicate repairs/issues with customers, end-users, and other team members
Remove and install components and parts. Service, maintain, adjust, and test mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Plan and organize jobs, and control costs associated with repairs by following the manufacture and company procedures
Complete the necessary reports in a timely manner
Required to promote and adhere to strict safety standards and maintain company assets in good condition

Required

Diesel technology degree or equivalent hands on experience
3+ years previous Caterpillar equipment/generator experience
switchgear and EPG control panel wiring experience
Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, E.T. and SIS programs
Operate the generators and heavy equipment for diagnosis purposes
Operate a forklift
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and be able to prioritize job duties
Must demonstrate good problem solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and excellent communication skills
Must be able to work alone or as a team
PC Skills required
Valid Driver's license required
Knowing, understanding and adhering to DOT rules and regulations

Preferred

Previous knowledge and generator experience with Cummins, MTU, Kohler, and Generac is a definite plus
