The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a Technical Analyst to join their Division of Mining and Reclamation. The role involves conducting engineering reviews of mining applications, performing field inspections, and analyzing data to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

Responsibilities
Conducts engineering reviews of complex mining and reclamation applications to ensure all techniques and designs comply with State Statutes and Regulations
Performs on-site inspections of proposed and permitted mine sites to verify that field conditions match application narratives and technical drawings
Analyzes engineering data to establish performance standards and environmental limits for mining operations
Assists the Dam Engineer with specialized inspections and evaluations of impoundments
Acts as a Team Leader by tracking project status, preparing work reports, and coordinating with other State and Federal agencies for compliance guidance
Authors detailed technical reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations derived from inspections and permit reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering
Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in engineering
A valid driver's license is required
Preferred
Degree and/or experience in Civil and Mining Engineering
