Survey Technician Supervisor

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Survey Technician Supervisor in Venango County. This role involves overseeing a survey team that conducts various surveys and ensuring effective data gathering and processing using both traditional and modern equipment.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the operations of a dedicated survey team responsible for conducting a variety of surveys, including preliminary assessments, right-of-way evaluations, and detailed geodetic surveys
Ensuring that the team effectively utilizes both traditional and modern electronic equipment to gather and process field data
Supervising the determination of elevations, locations, and distances within the designated survey area
Managing the electronic downloading and editing of survey data through the Department's Computer Aided Drafting and Design System (CADD)
Oversee the daily decision-making processes related to the field surveys assigned to your team
Calculating field traverses, right-of-way (R/W) measurements, and bridge stakeouts
Providing guidance to your crew regarding their daily tasks and work efforts
Consulting with the Chief of Surveys or Project Managers to ensure that all actions taken are in accordance with project standards and expectations

Required

One year of experience as a Survey Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments; or
Two years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation
