Responsibilities
Reconciles and maintains the general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of calculations
Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material; update records as necessary
Assist in the monthly close process and the preparation of monthly financial statements
Prepare and enter Journal Entries
Prepare and reconcile financial reports
General ledger account maintenance
Preparation of intercompany entries for elimination to facilitate consolidated financial statements
Fixed asset Accounting
Heavy experience with month-end close process
Assist with annual 1099 reporting
Assist in other projects assigned by the Finance Director
COE Activity 10% of work week
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in accounting or finance
1-3 year's current accounting experience in the role of Staff Accountant
Working knowledge of standard business internal control processes and generally accepted accounting principles
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Office applications
Familiarity with accounting software packages
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
Astute attention to details
Commitment to accuracy and integrity of all data, reports and communications
Ability to obtain cooperation and support from a broad range of people
Ability to effectively respond to extremely sensitive and confidential issues
Ability to manage multiple tasks and re-establish priorities as necessary
Must have clear written and oral communication skills
Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the company to obtain, analyze and discuss information
Ability to understand, develop and refine processes
Self-starter capable of working with little to no supervision
Good interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively with a wide range of situations and personalities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred
1-3 year's current accounting experience in the role of Staff Accountant is preferred
Prior experience in non-profit environment strongly preferred
