Sr Research Program Coordinator (Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences)

The Johns Hopkins Center for Suicide Prevention is seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator to assist with multiple research projects focused on suicide prevention. The coordinator will engage directly with research participants and collaborate with investigators, emphasizing a public health approach to suicide prevention.

Responsibilities

Arrange and assist in qualitative psychological autopsy interviews with next-of-kin, including sensitive data collection and note-taking
Coordinate scheduling, consenting, and follow-up with research participants
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, managing IRB protocols and amendments
Design, implement, and manage surveys and data collection instruments in REDCap and Qualtrics
Oversee transcription processes, manage qualitative data coding processes, and ensure data integrity and confidentiality
Conduct preliminary qualitative and quantitative data analyses, contributing to publications and presentations
Assist in preparing grant proposals and progress reports for various funding agencies
Perform literature reviews and contribute to manuscript preparation, with significant opportunities for co-authorship in a highly productive research group
Train, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and graduate research assistants and volunteers
Facilitate regular meetings, maintaining clear communication with team members and external collaborators to ensure timely completion of research goals

Required

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
Three years related experience
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data management tools (REDCap, Qualtrics), and some familiarity with either quantitative or qualitative analysis software
Flexibility to adapt to changing research priorities and timelines

Preferred

Master's Degree in Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related discipline
Previous experience in mental health research, qualitative interviewing, and/or public health interventions
Familiarity with Johns Hopkins IRB procedures and human subjects research compliance
