NEOGOV is seeking a Deputy District Attorney for the 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Boulder County. The role involves managing a county court docket, developing trial skills, and representing the office professionally while maintaining high ethical standards.

Responsibilities
Prepares and tries cases involving misdemeanor, traffic and petty offenses
Assists the Chief Deputy in the intake of misdemeanor and traffic cases
Explains and interprets statutes and status of various cases to the general public, and determines the adequacy of complaints presented by the public
Assists district court and juvenile court deputies in the prosecution of routine felony matters
Periodically serves on call to provide legal advice to law enforcement agencies and answer immediate questions from the general public
Attorneys will be required, on occasion, to respond to crime scenes at all hours and weekends
Candidates will be expected to have a strong work ethic and demonstrate good teamwork
Performs related work, as required
May be reassigned during emergency situations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Law (LLB) or Juris Doctorate (JD)
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado
Applicants must have a valid driver's license
A job offer is contingent on passing a criminal background investigation with fingerprinting
All applicants are required to attach a cover letter and resume for this position
Preferred
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Working knowledge of all Colorado statutes that the District Attorney is mandated to enforce
Knowledge of the rules of procedure, rules of evidence, and general workings of the judicial system
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, court officials, law enforcement, the public, and other government agencies
