Staff Systems Administrator

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Staff Systems Administrator in Huntsville, AL for a 1-year contract-to-hire role working 1st shift, Monday–Friday. This position supports a major aerospace & defense company on a classified program and requires an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Staff Systems Administrator for a medium-to-large government contract in a classified environment
Lead as a subject matter expert for Windows, VMware, Horizon VDI, migrations, and enterprise deployments
Maintain and enhance multi-user systems, coordinating with network, software, system engineering, desktop, and program teams
Administer backups/recovery, disk and file system management, and routine virus protection activities
Create and maintain user/computer accounts, permissions, and security access controls
Implement system upgrades, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration management, and performance improvements
Test new product releases to ensure compatibility and minimize operational impact
Drive STIG compliance activities, security logging/audit posture, and IA accreditation support in partnership with the ISSM
Develop and maintain technical processes, procedures, and security documentation for program needs
Provide status reporting, including end-of-day and end-of-week updates, for recurring and non-recurring tasking
Interface with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and vendors to resolve issues and implement improvements
Recommend hardware/software purchases and oversee system implementation and accreditation efforts

Required

Active Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 10+, or PhD with 8+ (16+ years may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Expert-level Windows administration, Windows domain architecture, and enterprise implementation/migration/maintenance
Expert-level VMware administration and Horizon VDI support
PKI / Certificate Authority design and implementation experience
Infrastructure architecture and design expertise
STIG compliance and IA accreditation experience; working knowledge of RMF and classified system environments (e.g., NISPOM, ICD 503, JSIG/JAFAN)
DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP, or higher; must be maintained)
Network design/implementation experience with Cisco and HP switching and firewalls
SAN and NAS design/implementation experience
Experience with cryptographic devices (e.g., KG-175, KIV-7, KGR-42)
Ability to obtain special program access (SAP/SAR) within 1 year and eligibility to obtain TS within a reasonable timeframe
Scripting/automation experience (Ansible)
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and support after-hours/weekend work as needed

Preferred

Current active Secret/Top Secret clearance at time of application
vSAN design and implementation experience
Linux/Unix administration experience
