CNC Programmer - Machinist

Responsibilities

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to machine custom and production components, including tools and fixtures
Accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances; perform layout and measurement of workpieces
Program, set up, and operate both manual and CNC machines for prototype and production runs
Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production staff to improve machining methods and results
Inspect completed parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure adherence to specifications
Adjust tooling and machine settings as necessary to meet complex design requirements and tight tolerances
Assist in identifying and resolving mechanical or operational issues with machines in coordination with maintenance personnel
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company safety standards
Document machining procedures, inspection results, and production metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives
Mentor and support team members by sharing expertise and assisting with training

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
A minimum of 5 years of experience in both manual and CNC machining environments
Strong knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, and working with various metals and plastics
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation
Proficient in CNC programming and knowledgeable in G-code
Experience with CAD/CAM software systems
High attention to detail with a commitment to producing precise, high-quality work
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods during shifts
Manual dexterity and capability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
Willingness to work in a manufacturing setting with moderate noise and industrial equipment

Preferred

Completion of a technical program or apprenticeship in CNC machining preferred
