Data Scientist
D&G Support Services, LLC is seeking a Data Scientist to support the U.S. Transportation Command's mission in Global Bulk Fuel Management and Delivery. The Data Scientist will analyze complex data, build predictive models, and create data visualizations to enhance operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities
Perform exploratory data analysis, build, and deploy machine learning models to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize logistics within the JPE
Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders through reports, dashboards, and presentations
Collaborate with data engineers to access and prepare data from Databricks and Palantir's Ontology for analysis and visualization
Analyze JPE data sources to identify opportunities for deeper analysis and insight. Assist in defining data requirements for ingestion and API development to ensure data is fit for analytical purposes
Actively participate in working groups and meetings to contribute to data-driven strategies, tool selection, and discussions on analytical requirements
Contribute to GBFMD equities presentations for USTRANSCOM, Joint Staff (JS), and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) governance boards as needed. Complete ad hoc analytical projects as assigned by leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
Experience with data pipeline development using tools like Apache Spark, Kafka, or similar
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience with Databricks/Lakehouse
Ability to travel within CONUS, approximately 10% of the time
DoD SECRET Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI
This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (ie., U.S. citizens, permanent residents and other protected individuals under the immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
Preferred
Experience with Palantir Ontology is a plus
Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes, and data modeling techniques
Proficiency with machine learning frameworks
Experience with API development and RESTful web services
Experience with Maven Smart Systems or similar platforms
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and quickly learn new technologies
Experience working with DoD, DLA, or USTRANSCOM
