Senior Electrical Engineer: {PCB Designer}

Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a focus on PCB design. The ideal candidate will provide engineering support on projects, lead PCB design initiatives, and mentor junior engineers while working within a collaborative R&D team.

Information Technology & Services

Responsibilities

Provide engineering level support on assigned and unassigned projects over the life cycle of new and legacy products
Help lead 1 or more of the PCB Design projects
Mentor/coaching junior electrical engineers
Provide troubleshooting, testing and EE support in the R&D department
Create and improve printed circuit board designs using Cadence design systems (Allegro)
Release projects to manufacturing by creating schematic design capture, new part numbers, detailed descriptions, and printed board assemblies (BOM structures) for new and legacy products or projects
Work within the Windchill PDM application tool to store fabrication documentation, schematics, gerber files etc
Resolve differences between design and fabrication requirements by making determinations such as modifying designs versus sending parts back to vendors
Attend regular team meetings, including engineering change order meetings in support of manufacturing & quality assurance analysis and correction of manufacturing defects
Work collaboratively with other engineering resources, project management, purchasing etc. and assist in applying core engineering concepts to solve complex, unfamiliar, and Client problems
Work with minimal assistance, with an ability to suggest innovative solutions from streamlining processes to completing a backlog of tasks
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations and standards

Required

8-10 Years experience in Electrical Engineering
Strong Electrical Engineer background to provide troubleshooting, testing and EE support
Strong Analog or Digital background in Electrical Engineering
Experience in creating and improving printed circuit board designs using Cadence design systems (Allegro)
Experience in releasing projects to manufacturing by creating schematic design capture, new part numbers, detailed descriptions, and printed board assemblies (BOM structures)
Experience working within the Windchill PDM application tool to store fabrication documentation, schematics, gerber files etc
Ability to resolve differences between design and fabrication requirements
Experience attending regular team meetings, including engineering change order meetings
Ability to work collaboratively with other engineering resources, project management, purchasing etc
Ability to work with minimal assistance and suggest innovative solutions
Good understanding of control electronic Products, specifically analog and digital circuits, and power electronics circuits
Ability to lead PCB specs release in qualification and in PDM
Support qualification of electronic components such as IGBTs, Magnetics, Thyristors, AC/DC capacitors, FAN's, etc
Knowledge of test equipment, CRO, AC Source, DC Source, Auto transformers, Multimeters, Data loggers
Ability to design and implement PCB designs that meet electrical, EMC, Safety, mechanical, thermal and DFA/DFM requirements
Ability to run independent tests, with good knowledge in basic troubleshooting of products
Ability to generate alternate solutions during feasibility studies during PCB modifications
Prior experience working with design packages and product Lifecyle Management (PLM) tools is required (more specifically Allegro and Windchill PDM or similar type processes)
Ability to work cross-functionally (i.e. with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Project Management)
Detail Oriented: Able to accurately follow precise procedures and thoroughly complete assigned tasks by using strong follow-up skills
4 Year bachelor's degree in electrical or Electronic Engineering

Preferred

Knowledge of Ladder Logic Client Proficy Software or Modicon Control Expert Software would be ideal
