Responsibilities
Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations the business
Operates transit vehicles to transport passengers over established routes according to set time schedules
Collect fares, and issues transfers; provides verbal information to the public regarding routes, schedules, and transfer points
Monitors radio communication while in route to ensure safe and timely arrival and departure times
Conducts routine pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and associated documentation on assigned vehicles
Cleans assigned vehicle after completion of a daily assignment or as necessary
Regulates heating and cooling for passenger comfort
Completes incident and accident reports
Reports mechanical defects to immediate supervisor
Monitors pre-established fares and records money, tokens, and transfers received
Provides special care to elderly and individuals with disabilities; operates wheelchair lift equipment for passengers using mobility devices and those unable to use the stairs
Attends meetings and training functions as assigned
Performs other work as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have a valid Class A, B, or C CDL driver's license for public transportation in the State of Tennessee with a P endorsement
Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations the business
Preferred
High School Diploma or GED preferred
A current CPR and Standard First Aid certifications or the ability to acquire them within six (6) months of the hire date is preferred
