Responsibilities
Drive Workforce Initiatives: Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that build capability and support advanced practice, including Partnered Pharmacist Medication Charting (PPMC) and other scope-of-practice models
Education Leadership: Develop and deliver professional development programs for pharmacy staff
Competency Assessment: Coordinate structured assessment processes (e.g., Direct Observation of Practice, Mini-CEX, Case-Based Discussions, OSCEs)
Clinical Contribution: Maintain a clinical component to support patient care and model best practice
Collaboration & Culture: Work with team leaders and stakeholders to embed a culture of continuous learning and capability building
Qualification
Required
Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligible for immediate registration) with no conditions or restrictions on practice and evidence of extensive and relevant hospital experience
Provide evidence of proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals and external service providers
Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems
Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process
Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, interns, Pharmacist, and/or Pharmacy Technicians/Assistants
Identify proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current clinical hospital pharmacy practice
A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families
Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement
