Oil and Gas Inspector
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Oil and Gas Inspector to join the Department of Environmental Protection. In this role, you will monitor oil and gas well activities and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, while supporting the responsible development of energy resources.

Responsibilities
Carry out monitoring, inspection, and compliance activities throughout the Northwest District to support the administration of the Oil and Gas Act, Conservation Law, Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Law, and related state regulations and policies
Perform field inspections of oil and gas wells during all phases of their lifecycle, including drilling, production, alteration, inactivity, and plugging, to verify compliance with applicable laws and permit requirements
Investigate gas releases and spills, collect samples and data, and prepare detailed inspection reports to document findings
Conduct gas storage reservoir maintenance inspections and respond to public complaints involving health and safety concerns, environmental impacts, site reclamation, abandoned wells, and potential violations
Communicate identified issues to operators, initiate enforcement and compliance actions, recommend corrective measures, issue notices of violation, and assist with drafting orders, penalties, and citations
Monitor and track corrective actions through follow-up inspections and review of submitted documentation to ensure issues are properly resolved
Qualification
Required
Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry
An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license
You must be able to perform essential job functions
