The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Accountant 1 for the Cambria County Behavioral Health and Developmental Supports Program. In this entry-level fiscal position, you will analyze financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and assist with budget preparation to support the program's mission of promoting hope and recovery in the community.

Responsibilities

Analyze financial transactions and prepare supporting documentation, financial statements, and reports to accurately track funds and evaluate financial trends and projections

Assist with the preparation of county budget data by compiling operating and contracted provider expense information for entry into the accounting system’s budget module

Utilize both automated and manual accounting tools to monitor expenditures, support financial reporting, and maintain precise records

Prepare vouchers and spreadsheets, contribute to the establishment and maintenance of financial controls, and recommend or implement updates to accounting methods and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency

Required

One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or

One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or

Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting

You must be able to perform essential job functions

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law
