The role involves developing and executing Azure cloud strategies, conducting performance monitoring, and troubleshooting complex Azure service issues.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute Azure cloud strategy, architecture, and implementation plans
Build, optimize, and maintain Azure resources, services, and environments
Conduct performance monitoring, capacity planning, and operational health assessments
Perform incident analysis and remediation using Azure-native monitoring and diagnostic tools
Design and maintain Azure-native backup, recovery, and DR/BCP configurations
Troubleshoot complex Azure service, identity (AD/Entra), networking, and security issues
Implement and maintain governance models including RBAC, least privilege, Azure Policies, and conditional access
Analyze cloud events using Azure Monitor, Sentinel, and Log Analytics
Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Support development teams with cloud architecture guidance and best practices
Assist with escalated Azure and identity-related issues
Define baseline performance standards for cloud workloads
Train and mentor department staff on Azure best practices, findings, new capabilities, and operational insights
Create and deliver internal sessions, workshops, or walkthroughs to strengthen cloud knowledge across the organization
Qualification
Required
Expert Level experience in Azure
Experience with Azure networking components - network security groups
Experience with VPN tunnels
Experience managing SQL servers
Experience with Microsoft Azure Service Fabric
Experience with Application - WAF - firewall
Experience using Azure for backups and disaster recovery
Experience with Entra ID
Experience with 365 for mail/apps
Experience with synching
Experience with hybrid setups - some on prem
Understanding of compartmentalizing Teams and rollout
Experience with Access Control - IP groups
Experience with automation opportunities around access control
Experience with firewalls/database service/service Fabric running on virtual machines
Ability to illustrate current Azure capabilities and provide architectural insight
Ability to assist with insight and visibility of analytics into the environment
Ability to develop and execute Azure cloud strategy, architecture, and implementation plans

Experience building documentation repo of common tasks including modifying load balancers and troubleshooting connectivity problems
Experience with HPA (internal app & database) migration
Experience with PostgreSQL environment decommissioning
Experience with RBAC security role standardization
Experience with health, logging, and analytics implementation
Experience with monitoring & alerting
Experience with dashboard for performance insight
Experience with renaming & standardization
Experience with DR & BCP project - execution plan, testing & audit trail
Experience developing staff security training plan and reference materials
Experience with Azure 'How-To' documentation - checking logs & investigations
Experience with SIEM implementation
