Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Assistant Director of Strategic Engagement & Healthcare Organizational Leadership Recruitment who will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative marketing and recruiting strategies to attract a diverse applicant pool. This role will collaborate with admissions leadership and manage recruitment initiatives for the School of Nursing programs, ensuring enrollment goals are met.

Responsibilities

Provide management and oversight for assigned projects and project-based teams within the recruitment function
Collaborate with Admissions leadership in providing ongoing in-house training and professional development
Lead and manage recruitment and application review for an assigned region (domestic and/or international territory) or applicant group. Recruitment responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build relationships and hosting presentations in the market
Visit high schools and community organizations
Develop knowledge and familiarity with the secondary school landscape in their region
Provide and analyze data and prepare reports to evaluate recruitment strategies
Conduct information sessions, support tours as needed and respond to routine requests from prospective applicants and families, as well as counselors
Will be expected to represent and be knowledgeable about the academics, student experience and financial aid programs at Hopkins
Lead programming and events staffing as assigned
Ensure timely and effective compilation of materials for admission committee review
Make scholarship recommendations
Ensure accurate and timely entry of admission committee decisions and scholarship awards
Manage internal and external relationships: Faculty, counselors, prospective students and families, current students, university administrators, high school counselors, alumni
Must be service and team oriented and aware of the needs and concerns of a selective private university
May include supervision of other designated Admissions roles
The Admissions Officer will have other responsibilities, to be determined around a specific project or program area. These responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, hiring and training student volunteers, developing materials for recruitment workshops and other events, assisting with messaging and presentation delivery, building international recruitment plans, or furthering initiatives related to access and diversity
Travel and night/weekend work may be required
Perform other duties as assigned
Partner with school leadership, track directors and other faculty to meet enrollment goals
Speak and present school/university and program information regularly and publicly to individuals, groups on and off campus and at virtual events
Evaluate and execute admission decisions on applicant files for all academic tracks in HOL and certificate programs and assist in admission review of other programs as assigned
Develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment and enrollment strategies
Establish and maintain new relationships with external constituents at feeder institutions and organizations
Collaborate with Associate Director of Admissions, Assistant Director of Data and Operations, and Director of Admissions on content and execution of strategic communication plans, specific to HOL and certificate prospects/applicants and unique populations (i.e, underrepresented in nursing, career changers, etc.) including emails, calls, texts, blogs and social media when appropriate
Partner with the Associate Director of Admissions, lead all local (Baltimore region) recruitment and engagement activities. Serve as liaison for all joint recruitment activity with other Johns Hopkins graduate programs
Partner with Admissions leadership and the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing to support the development of admissions-specific content that is timely, consistent (weekly and monthly, tailored by platform), and relevant across JHSON social media channels including Instagram, LinkedIn, and the Admissions Talks blog
Must travel domestically on a regular basis and occasional evening and weekend work required

Required

Bachelor's Degree
Five years progressively responsible related experience
Must be service and team oriented and aware of the needs and concerns of a selective private university
Knowledge of standard office software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred

Master's Degree
An understanding of graduate nursing programs
Bilingual or multilingual
Previous experience working with first generation students in admissions, financial aid or student affairs
Experience developing and managing content across digital platforms (e.g., social media, blogs, email) in a professional or institutional setting, with emphasis on student recruitment, admissions, or higher education outreach
