Responsibilities

Makes regular inspections of the system and equipment to ascertain proper operation

Makes necessary adjustments to system and equipment

Collects samples for laboratory tests

May perform certain routine laboratory tests

Maintains logs of gauge and meter readings

Maintains appropriate records and reports of equipment operation

Reports process and equipment problems to supervision

Required

Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or have a permanent resident card

Applicants must be a High School graduate or possess a G.E.D

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent

Possession of a Class I Wastewater Operator's Certificate issued by the Ohio EPA or the ability to obtain within two years (24 months) of being awarded the position

Knowledge of modern wastewater treatment plant principles and operating procedures

Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions of the work

Ability to use and handle mechanical tools

Ability to keep records and make reports

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Skills in the operation of plant and equipment
