Senior Electrical Project Engineer

The Senior Electrical Project Engineer will provide technical leadership and support for development projects, including design, analysis, and optimization of electrical systems for energy production, storage, and distribution.
Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems for energy production, storage, and distribution
Review preliminary design and layout of the electrical power systems for solar and energy storage systems
Initiation and completion of interconnection-related activities in consultation with clients and third-party consultants
Selection of major equipment, including review and approval of: Equipment specifications, One-line diagrams, Three-line diagrams, Cable sizing & routing, Substation & collector bus design, SCADA & communication design, Grounding design, Wiring diagrams, Trench design
Execution of bid cycles as required
Coordination of activities between clients, utilities, permit agencies, contractors, and other engineering firms
Participation in the Construction Administration phase of projects, including response to RFIs, review of design submission, and site visits as needed
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes
Remain current with advancements in mechanical engineering and renewable energy technologies
Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects
Mentoring of junior engineers
Perform related work as required - duties and responsibilities may be added, omitted, or modified at any time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
5 to 12 years of relevant work experience designing electrical systems for power plants
Experience within the energy industry – power generation, renewable energy, and energy storage systems
Strong understanding of electrical design principles, power flow, and system modeling
Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Competency in reading technical literature and engineering plans
Familiarity with PVSyst
Proficiency with AutoCAD and other engineering drawing tools
Expert competency with critical software systems, including Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus and ability to derive quick results
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate among construction, technical, and non-technical personnel, both internally and outside the company
Excellent presentation skills
Strong mentoring and training skills
Basic understanding of economics and financial analysis
Eligible to work in United States
Preferred
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license
