Responsibilities

Advise Agency managers on new developments and advances in security processes, methods, techniques, systems, and devices
Implements the process to accept and manage marking and designation of CUI in accordance with existing processes based in laws, regulations, and Government-wide policies
Plans, develops, and performs program evaluations; accomplishes continual program oversight; performs studies, analyses, and forecasts; and provides authoritative advice and assistance to Bureau managers and officials on security programs
Independently plans, develops, and implements security policies and procedures to ensure that classified material is received, transmitted, handled and stored

Must be a U.S. Citizen
This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination
This is a Drug Testing position
Individuals occupying positions designated as DSPs are required to meet certification requirements of Security Professional Education Development (SPED) Program
For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service
For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service
Specialized experience is defined as experience implementing and evaluation systems for information security in one or more of the major security program functional areas such as: controlled unclassified information, operations and/or industrial
Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level
