Responsibilities
Lead the engineering organization with employee management responsibilities including goal setting, performance evaluation, equity adjustments and promotions, merit and bonus planning, training, and workforce development
Collaborate with Space Systems sector Divisions, Business Units, Operating Units, and programs to plan for and provide staffing to ensure successful program execution
Collaborate with peer Central Region and Space Systems sector Engineering leaders to effectively support program execution across all supported programs
Collaborate with multiple functional organizations (business management, human resources, manufacturing & operations, mission assurance, security, and talent acquisition) to define strategies that enhance engineering effectiveness and efficiency
Identify engineering focus areas for improvement, development and execution of engineering initiatives, and elimination of non-value-added activities in all levels of the engineering organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 15 years of progressive technical experience in engineering
8+ years of management experience in engineering or related technical fields
Understanding of the engineering development lifecycle across multiple engineering disciplines with a focus on Software and Controls Engineering
Have knowledge and experience with Agile execution, DevSecOps, and development tools
Must have a current or active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred
Master's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 15 years of progressive technical experience in engineering
Active or current TS/SCI security clearance
10+ years of management experience in engineering or related technical fields
Strong understanding of business development and capture strategy lifecycles (i.e. proposal strategy, RFI/RFP's, requirements, review teams etc.)
Knowledge of Earned Value Management/Control Account Management (EVM/CAM)
Experience addressing program risk through an analytical forward-looking approach to include risk management and technical, cost, and schedule impacts as it relates to managing engineering projects
Experience in operational organization effectiveness and implementing best practices
Experience with 'Issue & Problem Resolution' to include root cause analysis, a proactive systematic approach to solutions, clear communication with stakeholders, and continuous monitoring of results
Strong understanding of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, and proven experience effectively working within and through NG (and/or a similar) corporate culture
